The Cake Analogy
I have an analogy: You are a cake.
We are each individual cakes made with ingredients that everyone has (because no cake can go without the basics), but we all have different proportions. No two are exactly the same.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that God made these delicious cakes, each with its own unique flavor and color and characteristics, and sometimes, we get sick of the ingredients that make us up.
We get sick of ourselves, so we try to change ourselves. But the truth is, no matter how much chocolate frosting you put on yellow cake, it wont change the ingredients of that yellow cake. You can slather strawberry sauce and ice cream all over it, you can make it pretty or cut it into cubes, but it's still yellow cake! And whatever you put on the outside of it, well, it doesn't change the inside. The inside you just have to live with.
What I'm trying to say is that we all have something about ourselves that drives us nuts. Like when we care about something that we shouldn't care about or a situation that we have no control over. It's useless to care about it and it frustrates you every time, but, that's you. You care, donkey. So live with it.
It’ just what you're made up of; the kind of cake you are. And nothing on earth can reverse the ingredients that made you, you.
